Help for learners managing matric results

Support is available to help learners navigate matric results, manage emotions, and plan their next steps with confidence.

POLOKWANE – As the countdown to matric results reaches its final hours, thousands of learners across South Africa are experiencing mixed emotions.

While many are breathing a sigh of relief, others are grappling with disappointment and uncertainty about their future.

Feelings of disappointment and stress can be overwhelming, making it necessary to prioritise mental health and well-being during this critical time.

Support is readily available for those feeling distressed or for those who did not achieve the results they were hoping for.

UNICEF South Africa and other organisations are urging learners to reach out for help, emphasising that their results do not define their worth or potential.

Learners can access free and confidential support by texting the word “SAFE” or “TIPS” to U-Report South Africa‘s WhatsApp line 083 283 8313 or by contacting Childline SA on 116.

With the right mindset, matric results are just one step in a million-mile journey.
