Eagle’s Nest Gr 8s begin high school with orientation camp
The Gr 8 learners marked the start of high school with a 3 day orientation camp, featuring inspiring talks, guidelines, and a bell-ringing ceremony.

POLOKWANE – Gr 8 learners at Eagle’s Nest Christian School started their high school journey with a three-day orientation camp, which started with principal Mac van den Berg sharing the history, vision, mission, and values of the institution, setting the tone for the learners’ new chapter.
Teacher Pumulani Magama inspired learners to participate in the school’s outreach programmes, while pastor Bongani Mlenzani spoke of the importance of spiritual growth.
On Saturday, the focus shifted to school policies and guidelines, covering uniforms, hair, accessories, bullying, cell phone usage, sick procedures, assessment protocols, and the merit/demerit system. This session ensured that learners were well-informed about the expectations and operations of their new environment.
The orientation concluded with a heartfelt Sunday service attended by learners and their parents. Dr Melanie de Villiers delivered inspiring words of wisdom, leaving a lasting impact on those present. To commemorate this significant milestone, learners rang the bell three times, a symbolic gesture marking the official start of their high school journey, accompanied by applause and celebration.
