Polokwane author sells over 500 copies of 2nd book

Author Lerato Molea sells over 510 copies of her second book, 'Love is a Dangerous Tool,' exploring toxic relationships and self-love.

POLOKWANE – Polokwane author Lerato Molea successfully sold over 510 copies nationwide for her second book ‘Love is a Dangerous Tool.’

Molea told Polokwane Observer that the name of the book was inspired by how it takes a few individuals to go back to the same partners that consume a lot from them and they turn a blind eye to the bad things their partners do to them, and its other inspiration comes from her previous relationship.

Molea explained that her first book ‘A gift from a married man,’ was inspired by the choices young girls make in order to finance a ‘lavish lifestyle’ that they can get from married men who are already established without even knowing where their finances come from. “The lack of being content with the little we have lead us to be scarified because we want a lifestyle we can’t afford ourselves.”

She added that her current book ‘Love is a Dangerous Tool’ talks about a young couple who was madly in love and seems to belong together forever.

“The characters were so happy. They were blessed with two daughters after some years of being married, but the man changed and became a ‘control freak.’ He started isolating his wife from people and social life. Their marriage was now becoming toxic and the wife decided to leave with the children, leaving the big house, cars behind to start afresh. To find out more about the story, you can read the book and see where the wife ends up,” Molea said.

“From reading this book, readers can benefit that it’s okay to walk away and there’s no shame in leaving a relationship behind. It’s okay to leave some things behind even though it’s not easy. Love yourself enough to walk away when love no longer seem safe and loving. In the book there are always notes to the abuser, victim, family of an abused and children of an abuser.”

Molea is currently working on her third book which will be published next year.
