Polokwane power outage in Welgelegen and Woodhill

A power outage has hit residents in Welgelegen and Woodhill, due to faults at the Delta and Iota substations with the municipality working on resolving the issues.

POLOKWANE – Residents in Welgelegen and Woodhill are currently experiencing a power outage, with the Polokwane Municipality confirming that technical teams are on-site working to restore supply as soon as possible.

Municipality spokesperson, Thipa Selala says that the power outage in Welgelegen is due to a fault at the Delta Substation, which has impacted seven minisubstations in the area.

Meanwhile, a breaker failure at the Iota Substation has left Woodhill without power, also affecting the Dalmada Water Treatment Plant and resulting in water supply disruptions in parts of the city, including Serala View, Flora Park, and Fauna Park.

“Technical teams are working diligently to resolve the issue and restore power and water supply to the affected areas. In the meantime, the Polokwane Municipality is encouraging residents to report any service-related issues promptly using the MyPolokwane Citizen app, which can be downloaded to help the municipality respond more efficiently to service disruptions.”
