Bodies of 2 men found on the Kuschke gravel road near Polokwane

Two men were gunned down outside Polokwane, prompting Limpopo Police to intensify investigations into recent brutal shootings.

POLOKWANE – The provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has ordered an intensive investigation into a series of brutal shootings across the province, including the most recent double murder in the Westenburg policing area outside Polokwane.

The Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said the bodies of two African men (between 30 and 40 years old) were discovered on the D1377 Kuschke gravel road yesterday afternoon (August 19).

Mashaba said both victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and one had his hands tied.

“A cartridge case, a maroon jersey and a cash note were recovered at the scene. The deceased remain unidentified,” his statement read.

In response, Hadebe ordered that all similar murder cases be transferred to the Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit to ensure a coordinated investigation.
