EFF to pursue Polokwane mayor for direct delivery of demands
The EFF in Polokwane refused to hand over their protest memorandum to a municipal representative, vowing to find Mayor John Mpe to give it to him directly.
POLOKWANE – Members of the EFF dispersed from the Polokwane Municipality on Wednesday, August 20, without handing over their memorandum of demands (MoD), stating they would only present the document directly to the Mayor of Polokwane, John Mpe.

The party’s provincial representative, Jacob Lebogo, said the MoD could not be handed to the municipal representative, MMC for Community Safety Joosuf Pemma.
The march was organised to protest against alleged poor municipal services, including potholes and billing issues and to demand the mayor’s removal.
Hundreds of party members, as well as members of Action SA, marched to the municipality earlier, prompting traffic delays in the CBD.
Lebogo stated the party is now trying to locate Mpe and may even hand over the document at a soccer match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Magesi FC at Seshego stadium this evening.
Members also want to hand over their CVs for immediate employment, a measure they claim the mayor recently implemented in Extension 44.

If the soccer match plan fails, the EFF is prepared to return to the municipality on a day when Mpe is available to receive the document.
