Man arrested in Polokwane for drug possession and dealing

Police arrest a 32-year-old man for possession and dealing in drugs after seizing narcotics worth R6 000 in the Capricorn District.

POLOKWANE – A 32-year-old man is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court soon after being arrested for possession and dealing in drugs during an intelligence-driven operation on Tuesday (August 26).

Limpopo police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, says the operation was carried out by members of the Provincial Flying Squad following a tip-off about a suspect allegedly selling drugs at a local liquor outlet.

“Officers tactically approached the man, searched him, and discovered drugs with an estimated street value of R6 000 in his possession. The man was immediately arrested and charged with possession and dealing in drugs.”

Provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the team for their response, noting that such operations are essential in disrupting drug networks and reducing crime in communities.
