Polokwane man faces charges after gun-pointing incident in Ladanna
Police seized rifles and ammunition after a Westenburg suspect pointed a firearm at a shop employee in Ladanna, Polokwane.
POLOKWANE – The Westenburg police have arrested a 44-year-old man for pointing a firearm at a shop teller in Ladanna, Polokwane.
Several other firearms and ammunition were later confiscated at his workshop and farm.
The Limpopo police say the incident occurred on Thursday (September 18) when police received a complaint that a customer had threatened to shoot an employee inside a Ladanna shop.

“Officers responded swiftly and found the suspect still at the scene. He admitted to pointing a firearm at the teller, which was later recovered from his vehicle. A follow-up investigation led police to his workshop, where more firearms were discovered. In addition, four rifles and ammunition were seized from his farm,” the police spokesperson, Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba’s statement reads.

The suspect claimed the firearms belonged to a customer who had left a vehicle at his workshop for service.
He was arrested for pointing a firearm and for possession of suspected unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
The man is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (September 22).
