A fire has broken out at Hungry Lion on Excelsior Street in the Polokwane CBD with the cause still being investigated.

POLOKWANE – A fire has broken out at the Hungry Lion on Excelsior Street in the Polokwane CBD, prompting a rapid response from emergency services.

Adding to the situation, instances of looting have been reported at neighbouring shops.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated after it ignited shortly before 14:00.

Firefighters are currently on the scene, battling the blaze, while police and traffic officers have been called to close off the roads and manage traffic flow.

No injuries have been reported at this stage.
