Shebeshxt reportedly charged while in custody in Polokwane

Musician Shebeshxt has reportedly been charged while in custody in Polokwane, following the alleged discovery of prohibited items.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Review-Observer has received information from a reliable source indicating that musician Lehlogonolo “Shebeshxt” Chauke has been charged while in custody at the Polokwane Holding Cells at around 11:00 today.

According to the source, the charge follows the discovery of prohibited items in his possession, including a smartphone, charger, empty sachets containing remnants of an unknown substance and a drug-smoking pipe.

Chauke’s lawyer, Lot Ramusi, says he is not aware of this new charge and has not received instructions to represent him.

In a separate matter, the Department of Correctional Services has confirmed that the suspect was transported from their facilities on January 23 to appear in court in Bronkhorstpruit, where he was charged for driving 220 km/h. That charge has not yet been merged with the other nine charges currently before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court.

This is a developing story. Updates will be provided once more information becomes available.
