POLOKWANE – The Municipality has warned residents of ongoing electricity outages in several areas following heavy rainfall across the city and surrounding regions.

According to the municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala, outages have been reported in areas including Bendor, Sterpark and Thornhill after adverse weather conditions damaged infrastructure.

Power supply in parts of Polokwane Central affected by lightning has since been restored.

Technical teams are currently attending to faults, with efforts focused on restoring electricity as quickly and safely as possible, depending on weather conditions.

The municipality has also called on the public to remain cautious, warning against contact with damaged electrical infrastructure, fallen cables and flooded areas during the severe weather conditions.
