Nine-hour power interruption scheduled for Seshego areas
Residents in Seshego are advised of a scheduled nine-hour power interruption due to maintenance work by Polokwane Municipality.
POLOKWANE – Residents and businesses in several Seshego areas are advised to prepare for a planned electricity supply interruption scheduled for Saturday, May 16, as the municipality undertakes critical maintenance work on its electricity infrastructure.
According to the municipality, technicians will carry out maintenance and repairs on faulty 11kV equipment at the Zone 8 Substation. The project will also include the replacement of damaged equipment on the Zone 5 11kV panel, which was reportedly affected by recent lightning damage.
The planned outage is expected to begin at 07:00, with electricity supply anticipated to be restored by 16:00. Municipal officials estimate the work will take approximately nine hours to complete.
Areas expected to be affected by the temporary interruption include:
- Seshego Zone 1 Extension
- Seshego Zone 4
- Seshego Zone 5
- Seshego Zone 7
- Seshego Zone 8
- Extension 133
- Seshego Police Station
- Seshego Plaza
The municipality has urged residents and businesses to make the necessary preparations ahead of the scheduled interruption and apologised for any inconvenience caused during the maintenance period.

Municipal officials say the maintenance forms part of ongoing efforts to improve service reliability and strengthen the local electricity network.
