Polokwane GBV foundation faces legal action for supporting victim

Lentswe Laka Foundation remains committed to GBV victims despite facing alleged intimidation and legal action from an accused perpetrator.

POLOKWANE – Lentswe Laka Foundation says it remains committed to supporting victims of gender-based violence despite facing legal action and alleged intimidation connected to one of the cases it is involved in.

The organisation alleges that an accused perpetrator filed a counter-protection order intended to stop the foundation from communicating with and assisting the victim.

The foundation believes the move is an attempt to silence both the survivor and those advocating for her.

The matter appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court today (Tuesday, May 13), where proceedings were postponed to May 20.
