Police search for trio after Lebowakgomo business robbery

Three men posing as customers robbed a clothing store in Lebowakgomo of laptops, tablets, smart watches, clothing, and cash.

LIMPOPO – Police in Lebowakgomo are searching for a group of perpetrators following a robbery at a clothing store in a local shopping complex on Saturday morning.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the robbery took place at about 10:30 while a 49-year-old female supervisor and a colleague were inside the store attending to daily transaction reports.

According to preliminary information, an unknown man entered the shop pretending he wanted to open an account. He was later joined by two other men.

Ledwaba said the robbers instructed the complainant to open the safe before forcing the employees to place their cellphones into bags.

“The men forced the complainant to open another locker and subsequently stole laptops, tablets, cables, smart watches, clothing items, power banks and cash,” said Ledwaba.

The trio fled the scene, and no arrests had been made at the time of publication.

Police have appealed to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact investigating officer Constable Joseph Magampana on 082 414 2698, the nearest police station, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or to use the MySAPS App anonymously.

Investigations are continuing.
