Suspect caught on bus while fleeing Limpopo after robbery case
A 27-year-old man wanted for house robbery and assault was arrested while trying to flee Limpopo on a bus headed to Gauteng.

LIMPOPO – A 27-year-old man wanted in connection with cases of house robbery, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and possession of suspected stolen property has been arrested while attempting to leave the province.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the arrest followed a coordinated operation involving members of the Provincial Flying Squad and Banderlierkop SAPS.

According to police, members of the Provincial Flying Squad were conducting routine operational duties on Monday (May 25), when they received information from Banderlierkop SAPS requesting assistance to intercept a bus travelling on the N1 South towards Gauteng.
Police said the suspect was believed to be attempting to flee the province.
Officers tracked the bus and carried out an interception operation before positively identifying the suspect.

During a search, police recovered suspected stolen property, including copper, and the suspect was immediately arrested.
Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended the members involved in the operation.

“This arrest demonstrates the commitment of our police officers as they ensure that criminals have no place to hide,” Hadebe said.
The suspect is expected to appear before a local Magistrate’s Court soon.
Police investigations are continuing.
