2 men shot dead at Beitbridge truck stop

Two men, aged 51 and 32, were shot dead at the Limpopo Truck Stop in Beitbridge. Police are investigating the circumstances.

LIMPOPO – Two men aged 51 and 32 were shot dead at the Limpopo Truck Stop in Beitbridge on Sunday night.

Bodies found next to vehicle

Officers responding to a report of a shooting found the two men lying next to a vehicle with Zimbabwean registration plates.

Both had sustained gunshot wounds to their upper bodies and were declared dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet known and remain under investigation.

Unlicensed firearm recovered

Police later recovered an unlicensed firearm with its serial number removed. The firearm was found after the vehicle had been handed over to the wife of one of the deceased. It had a magazine containing 13 rounds of ammunition.

A separate case has been opened in connection with the firearm.
