LIMPOPO – The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety has confirmed that the R524 is closed approximately 5km outside Louis Trichardt following a multiple-vehicle collision involving five vehicles, including a Saps vehicle.
Emergency services are currently on scene, and Vhembe District Traffic Officers are diverting traffic.
Alternative routes
Thohoyandou to Louis Trichardt (Makhado):
- Motorists on the R524 from Thohoyandou will turn left at Beja Road
- Proceed to Beja Beef, between Elim and the N1
- Turn left to the 3-Mile N1 Traffic Circle
- Join the N1 South
Louis Trichardt (Makhado) to Thohoyandou:
- Motorists will proceed straight at the Makhado Mall traffic lights
- Turn right at Witvlag Road (N1)
- Proceed to the R523 junction
- Turn right towards Sibasa/Thohoyandou
