Flora Park teen crowned Miss National South Africa 2025
Polokwane’s Thatego Rambau wins Miss National South Africa 2025 and plans to use her reign to promote rural healthcare and sanitation.
POLOKWANE – At just 16 years old, Thatego Rambau, a Gr 11 learner from Flora Park Comprehensive High School was crowned Miss National South Africa 2025.
Driven by the motto, ‘Be who you are because true confidence comes from embracing yourself and never let fear get in the way of your dreams,’ Thatego says her faith and belief in God’s plan carried her through the competition.
Her journey in pageantry began in primary school, and her passion for it has only grown since then.
Inspired by the impact previous titleholders had through their advocacy work, Thatego plans to use her reign to shine a spotlight on pressing issues like healthcare and sanitation in rural communities.

“I hope to collaborate with local organisations and schools to promote the importance of clean, safe environments and will use social media to raise awareness around better health and sanitation in underdeveloped areas,” she said.
Despite fierce competition, Thatego stood out for her resilience, empathy, humility and strong commitment to community upliftment. “Being Miss National South Africa is not about wearing the crown, it’s about being a leader and bringing real change to your community,” she said.
Balancing her new role with her studies, Thatego plans to prioritise her schoolwork, family, and overall well-being.
She is already preparing to roll out projects such as school motivational talks, clean-up campaigns and initiatives to advocate for improved living conditions for vulnerable communities.
