Being afraid to make business decisions is a decision on its own

It is becoming more common that business owners tend to shy away from making decisions regarding their businesses and this is what makes or breaks a business.

It is becoming more common that business owners tend to shy away from making decisions regarding their businesses and this is what makes or breaks a business.

We all know that all businesses have their ups and downs and, be it as it may, business owners have to make decisions almost every day of their lives if they want to still stay afloat.

Otherwise, they can find themselves out of business in no time.

In my consultation as a trained business rescue practitioner and business coach, I have seen this happen so many times that I strongly wish that all businesses owners could pay attention to this aspect.

Even the quality of our lives is nothing but a combination of decisions that we make each day, sometimes consciously and sometime subconsciously.

The big question is how these decisions are serving or not serving you, and this can be determined by the results that you are currently achieving in your business.

If the results are not what want to see or are not pleasant, then perhaps you need to make new decisions. It’s that simple.

It still puzzles me that there are people who are not happy with their business outcomes and yet still do not make the necessary decisions to do something about it, especially when their business es teeters on the very dangerous verge of bankruptcy.

They remain inactive, hoping that something magical will suddenly happen, which in most cases does not and their businesses have to close shop if they do not end up being liquidated.

These owners believe that not making a decision is safer than making one, but instead the opposite is true, because not making a decision is a decision.

It is a decision that you, as business owner, have decided should be controlled by circumstances rather than by yourself.

This can be compared to the decision not to vote. If you don’t vote, you allow the outcome of any decision that is made to control you.

Its only when you make the decision to vote that you too can make a difference to the outcome and to how you would like things to turn out.

The same can be said about business. The only difference is that, with business, you have more control over what the outcome of your business decisions will be.

Make it a habit to make decisions as often as possible because that way you have a far better chance of getting out of an unpleasant situation when it rears its ugly head one day.
