Gadima Seriti (14) grades to 1st Dan

“It is an exceptional achievement to grade to 1st Dan or senior black belt in karate at the age of 14.”
These are the words of the proud Sensei Piet van Rensburg of JKA Karate Club and instructor of Gadima Seriti who recently graded to 1st Dan. Van Rensburg said Gadima graded on 30 October in Modimolle under 6th Dan South Africa JKA head instructor, Johan le Grange.
“She is in Grade 9 and she is as good a karateka as a learner of Hoërskool Noorderland. She is one of two who graded for senior black belt.
“She also made us proud when she was selected to participate in the African Cup in September where only the best eight karatekas in each age category countrywide were selected,” Van Rensburg said, adding that Gadima’s success lies in her dedication and hard work.
Gadima said her passion for karate and hard work resulted in the achievement. “I would also like to thank Van Rensburg for being the best coach and his continuous motivation,” she said.
