Following their 0-5 defeat by one of the strongest contenders in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), Bidvest Wits at Bidvest Stadium on Friday, Polokwane City Football Club will be looking for three points when they meet Jomo Cosmos at old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Cosmos, currently in 14th position of the league will go into the match with their heads high after beating Soweto giants Orlando Pirates 1-0 at Olen Park last Saturday.
City’s loss keeps them in 13th position of the league with 15 points after 15 matches, just two points away from Cosmos.
Polokwane City Football Spokesperson, Tumelo Makgoara said they have put the loss against Wits behind them and are looking forward to do well against Jomo Cosmos. “We have put behind the result against Wits. It was one of those terrible losses which we did not envisage. We were let down by our defence hence we conceded so many goals. Our aim is to win against Jomo Cosmos and move out of the relagation zone,” Makgoara said. He said that they were pleased to welcome back star striker Puleng Tlolane who has recuperated from a knee injury. “We are happy to have him back in the team. He was the team’s goal scorer and one of the league top scorers last season and we are confident that his return will give the technical team more options.”
