Rugby fans who have not yet bought tickets for Saturday’s Super Rugby warm-up match between the Vodacom Blue Bulls and the Emirates Lions at the Peter Mokaba Stadium can still do so on the day of the match at the ticket office of the stadium.
Tickets are R100 for the main pavilion and R80 for the Eastern pavilion. A seat behind the score posts is R60 and learners pay R30. Parking tickets cost R20.
Schools who book 50 tickets or more behind the score posts will get R10 back per ticket. Individual learners will still pay R30.
The gates at the Peter Mokaba Stadium open Saturday at 11:00 with the first match between Pietersburg Dorp Rugby Club and Musina Rugby Club to start at 12:00. Loskop Rugby Club from Groblersdal will take on Potgietersrus Rugby Club at 13:25 while big rugby action is expected at 15:00 when BB Truck Noordelikes and Tshwane University of Technology will clash in an Assupol Series match.
The main game between the Blue Bulls and Lions is expected to start at 17:15 and the Blue Bull Babes will entertain.
Players from the Blue Bulls and Lions are expected to arrive tomorrow (Friday) morning after which they will depart to several schools in the city where learners will have the opportunity to meet their rugby heroes. Players of both teams will also be available to engage in mall activities where fans will be able to have items signed. A gala dinner will be hosted at Protea Hotel Ranch Resort tomorrow evening. Tables are available at R6 000 per table with nine seats and the tenth seat reserved for a rugby player.
Among the Bulls players to attend the dinner are Adriaan Strauss, Lizo Gqoboka, Trevor Nyakane, Lappies Labuschagne, Arno Botha and Jamba Ulengo.
Lions players include Jaco Kriel, Howard Mnisi, Courtnall Skosan, Julan Redelinghuys, Elton Jantjies, Robbie Coetzee and Coach Johan Ackerman.
A beer tent and food stalls will be available at the stadium and fans are advised not to bring any drinks into the stadium.
