Mpho Makhado and Peter Mashela were announced overall winners of the MGM Motors Volvo Golf Day hosted at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
The combined Stableford saw 87 and 75 players competing over the two days respectively.
On Saturday Francois Goosen and Hein Warmenhoven claimed victory with 75 points followed by the team of Julius Mapatha and Jonas Legora with 74 points. Prizes for nearest to the pin were awarded to Tristen Schwim and Charles Hardy on the 11th and 16th hole respectively.
On Sunday Jan Nel and Malabane Pataki took the win with 76 points (count in) followed by Arthur Masuna and Dlamini Memezi with 76 points (count out) but with a combined score of 141 points it was Makhado and Mashela.
Mashela also claimed the prize for nearest to the pin on the fourth hole with Masuna doing the same on the eighth hole. Makhado and Lennie Olley also claimed nearest to the pin on the 16th and 11th holes respectively.
Golfers are advised that Polokwane Golf Club will be closed this weekend for the hosting of the Limpopo Closed Championships.
