MotoX bikers from across the province competed in the Limpopo Regional Championships hosted at Capricorn Racing Club on Saturday.
Riders from Polokwane, Louis Trichardt and Phalaborwa took each other on in various classes varying from 50 cc to 250 cc bikes. Heavy rains caused some muddy conditions on the race track making the event more challenging for bikers.
In the MX125 class Ryan Terblanche claimed victory followed by Franko Marias and Tiaan Prinsloo in second and third place respectively. JB Booysen, André du Plessis and Brett Richter took the first three positions on the podium in the MX Support class while the veteran and masters class was ruled by Raubenheimer siblings Brendan and Donovan.
Marli de Lange was the only competitor in the MX ladies class which earned her the overall first place while Mark James Carty and Ian Rudiger took the first and second place in the Pro Mini class respectively.
Arno Dique went full throttle in the Flat Track Open class earning himself first place followed by Allen Bird and Marcus Pieterse. Hendrik Coetzee and Hein Vorsatz were the first two finishers in the Flat Track Beginners class.
Local favourites Janneman Potgieter and Tyrone Thompson battled it out in the MX1 class but Potgieter gave Thompson little change to get to the finish first. Potgieter also claimed second place in the MX2 class claimed by Tyrone Beverley.
In the 50 cc class Kassim Hassim was first to get to the chequered flag while Nathan Kuhn won the 65 cc class with Mia Terblanche in second.
Mark-Anthony Fillip, Wesley McGavin and Peter Keartland were the first three to finish the 85 cc class.
