Laerskool Ivypark is rightfully proud of two of its young athletes, Cheyeza Mlondobozi and Kholi Ntike who were selected to the Provincial Primary Schools Team that will represent the province during the National Athletics Championships for Primary Schools taking place in Port Elizabeth on Saturday and Sunday.
Cheyeza, u.10, and Kholi, u.13, are both hurdlers and will take to the track in the 70 m and 75 m events respectively.
They were selected after the provincial athletics championships for primary schools that was held at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium last Wednesday.
“We had 11 athletes representing the school at the provincial event. We are happy that the two were selected. We wish them the best of luck and hope that they will bring home gold medals in their events,” Nadia Grobler, Sport Coordinator at the school said.
She added that they were proud of all the athletes who represented the school at provincial level.
She said it was a learning experience for all of them that can only benefit them in future.
