Nearly 100 golf players endured the scorching summer sun during a two-day golf challenge hosted at Polokwane Golf Club last week.
Local business, Da-Ga Boys hosted their first golf day with 96 enthusiast players competing in individual Stableford format.
Andries du Plessis claimed victory as individual winner with 48 points followed by Gerrit Saaiman on 45 points and Riaan Piek on 43.
Du Plessis and Saaiman also teamed up with Walter du Plessis and Tjaart van Wyk to be announced as combined winning team over the two days. The team of Raoul van Zyl, Willem Nieman, Johan Geldenhuys and Pieter O’Reily finished second with team Eric Coetzee, Ivan Gevers, Arnold Venter and Duncan van Zyl third.
Field prizes went to Robbie Coetzee (fourth), Francois Goosen (eighth), Russell Gutsche (11th) and Johan van Ravesteyn (16th) for nearest to the pin on the respective holes.
Prizes for the longest drive went to Danie Bouwer (first), Danie Nel (sixth), Danie Bouwer jnr (10th) and Ivan Gevers (18th) respectively.
