Six gold, seven silver and four bronze medals earned by kick boxers from the Limpopo Province Sport Karate/Kickboxing Academy (LPSKKA) at the recent National Martial Arts International Sport Karate Association Championships in Cape Town have earned them a place in the team to represent South Africa at the Iska World Championships next year.
LPSKKA coach Nico Myburgh said each of the athletes prepared well for the championships with most kick boxers performing above average throughout the year. “They also acknowledged during the national competition that hard work during the year is worth it at the end. I am proud of those who excelled and who will participate in the world championships in America next year,” Myburgh said.
Kick boxers achieving medals are Herman Nieman (bronze), Lee Kleynhans (two gold, silver), Elize Pretorius (two silver), Cornelia Nell (silver, bronze), Leandré Peyper (two silver), Kian Kleynhans (gold, bronze), André Joubert (two gold), Petie Nell (gold), Christo Norman (silver) and Caitlen Norman (bronze).
