The South Africa Gym Games is the highlight on any gymnast’s annual calendar and Gymstars thought it fitting to award its members who performed well during this year’s champion­ships hosted in Pretoria in October.
Gymstars head coach Lelanie Logtenberg indicated that 22 gymnasts had competed in different disciplines. “I am extremely proud of them but just as delighted about every single gymnast who worked hard during the past year. The Gym Games was the cherry on top of a great year for the club,” she said.
At the event senior rhythmic girls on level 4 to 7 showed off some awesome skills and achieved podium positions. They are Megan Bekker, second; Karla Vorster, fourth; Lize van Ryneveld, first;
Anika Myburgh, second and Chanté Serfontein, third.
Senior boys’ gymnasts who performed well are JC Logtenberg, second overall with three silver medals, Wihan Logtenberg, second overall on the mushroom and third overall on floor and Andru de Beer, third overall with a gold, silver and bronze medal.
