Rising Baroka Football Club midfielder, Goodman Mosele was selected to be part of the 32-man South African u.20 squad that will take part in the upcoming 2019 Confederations of African Football (CAF) u.20 Cup of Nations qualifier matches.
The team is scheduled to play their first match of the second round on 11 May 2018 against the winner of the match between Mozambique and the Seychelles.
The tournament will be hosted in Niger from 24 February to 10 March 2019.
The u.20 team had a prosperous 2017 season and finished fourth in the Africa u.20 Cup of Nations, qualified for the 2017 Fifa World Cup in Korea and won the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations, u.20 Championship. All the while most of the players debuted for the club’s senior teams and are now regulars in their respective teams.
Mosele was promoted to Baroka’s first team in 2016 while still in Grade 11 at Kopano High School in Lebowakgomo. He made his debut last August against Orlando Pirates at Peter Mokaba Stadium in and since then he has never looked back. He joins the likes Gift Motupa and Thabiso Kutumela who have represented Baroka at international level.
Baroka’s Chief Executive Officer, Morgan Mammilla said the club was delighted with Mosele’s achievement and wished him well in the qualifiers. “He is a complete player, down to earth, focused and disciplined. We are happy to have a national player in the team. This shows that people are watching us and it is encouraging,” Mammilla remarked
Mosele reportedly said he was pleased to have been included in the national team set-up and that he was looking forward to the qualifiers and contributing to the team’s progress in the tourmament.
