Polokwane City Football Club is hoping to collect their first maximum points of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) against its longstanding nemesis, Baroka Football Club on Saturday afternoon when they meet at new Peter Mokaba stadium.
Polokwane City is yet to win a match of the 2018/19 PSL season and has never beaten Baroka in a league match. Last season both their home and away matches against Baroka ended in draws. They are further still recovering from the 2-0 loss they suffered against Mamelodi Sundowns last Tuesday.
Club Spokesperson, Vusi Ntimane promised their supporters that they would break their bad spell against Baroka on Saturday. He said that while anything could happen the team was looking good and the new coach and players were positive factors counting in their favour.
Chief Executive Officer of Baroka Football Club, Morgan Mammilla said they would continue their dominance over Polokwane City.
He added that Polokwane City was desperate for points but that they were not going to budge but instead continue their onslaught and deny them the three points.
He also added that they were satisfied with the progress made by their new coach, Wedson Nyirenda who joined the club in June this year. “He was able to bounce back from a loss against Amazulu and win against Cape Town City Football. He is laying a good foundation and we can only hope for the best,” Mammilla said.
