Joel Masutha, former Black Leopards Football Club head coach, was appointed appointed a caretaker coach at Chippa United on Monday.
Masutha who promoted Leopards to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) last season, takes over from Erick Tinkler who left the team on Sunday after three months in charge.
The former Leopards goalkeeper resigned from Leopards last month due to undesirable results.
According to a media statement released by Chippa United on Monday, Masutha is no stranger to them having served as assistant coach to Roger Skhakhane when the club was promoted to the PSL in 2014.
Masutha finds Chippa lying in an unsteady 15th position of the league with 10 points after 12 matches and will be hoping to win his first match against Cape Town City Football Club scheduled for Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday. “We are ready for the match against Cape Town City. It is an important match for the team because we need points in order to move up in the log,” Masutha was quoted to have said.
