Karatekas receive honours at prize giving

Yin-Yang Karate and Self-defence Studio hosted an interclub competition which was followed by their annual prize giving at Taxila Secondary School on Saturday.
According to sensei Annatjie de Jager participants competed in kata, kumite, bow-kata and unison divisions and the competition was concluded on a high note with trophies and certificates being awarded.
Awards were made to:
Muskan Umata – Senior Karateka of the Year and Overall Karateka of the Year 2018.
JP Swart – best kumite during the competition
Masaku Mathiba – Most improved karateka
Timia Kalla – Best progress
Jayden Heyns – Karate Kid of the Year
Wasif May – Junior Karateka of the Year 2018 and best kata performance for the year
Mohammed Patel – Best kata performance during the competition
Zoya Patel – Most disciplined karateka
