Head coach of Black Leopards Football Club, Dylan Kerr and striker Mwape Musonda were respectively named Premier Soccer League (PSL) Coach and Player of the Month for December and January during the PSL monthly award held in Gauteng last Thursday.
Musonda, who is one of the team’s longest serving players has been in fine form, scoring in all four of Black Leopards matches during December and January.
The Zambian hitman has been instrumental in Black Leopards’ attack. His goals have resulted in the team shooting up the log standings to 11th position from the relegation zone.
Kerr, who joined the club at the beginning of the season, guided Leopards to memorable home victories against SuperSport United and AmaZulu, an away win against Baroka FC and a 1-1 draw to Golden Arrows.
Under Kerr, Leopards amassed an impressive 10 points from those matches and the team collectively scoring eight goals while conceding three.
Kerr was commended by the panel of judges for turning things around after finding Leopards in a lowly position on the log and introducing an exciting brand of entertaining and captivating football.
Director of the Club, Tshifiwa Thidiela said they are proud of Kerr and Musona’s achievemnets and wished them well in the new season. “They have done well and shown that through hard work one will be rewarded,” Thidiela said.
