Polokwane City Football Club intends claiming the scalps of Black Leopards Football Club when they meet in the second Limpopo derby of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) set for Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.
In the first round Leopards beat City 1-0 at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium in August last year.
In their last 24 matches, City has manged to win nine matches while Leopards won six from the 22 matches.
Leopards is hovering around the relegation zone and victory against City could see them moving further up the log.
Club Manager, Elijar Mulaudzi, said they are aiming for another three points in the league.
“We beat them in the first round and we believe we can beat them again. We are left with eight matches and we need to get maximum points from those matches in order to finish the league in a decent position,” Mulaudzi said.
Chief operations officer of Polo­kwane City Football Club, Tincy Tema described the match as one of the toughest matches this season.
“They are on form and they have a good coach. Since his arrival at the club the team has been playing well. However, we are looking forward to the match, we are not going to be vengeful we just want three points and consolidate our position in the league,” Tema said.
