Baroka ready for Sundowns clash

Following their massive 1-0 victory over the mighty Kaizer Chiefs Football at FNB stadium a fortnight ago, Baroka Football Club is aiming to claim the scalps of the reigning Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
The two teams will clash on Saturday afternoon during the 27th league match of the season scheduled for Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Baroka has not lost to Sundowns in the current season and a win against the Pretoria giants could see them moving up two positions in the league to position 13. Sundowns is in the meantime lying comfortably in second position with 44 points after 21 matches.
Club Spokesperson, Mogau Maredi said a victory against Sundowns will ease their relegation woes. “We are in the relegation zone and in desperate need of points. We have not lost against them this season. We played to a goalless draw at Lucas Moripe Stadium in December and this time we will emerge victorious. We are aware of their form in the league but they are not invincible. They have lost a number of games and we are going to punish them,” Maredi said.
Maredi said they will be giving away 1 000 tickets to their loyal supporters for the Sundowns match.
The gesture is one of the club’s initiatives to ensure that they have enough supporters at the stadium. “We will be giving away tickets to learners at local schools. We don’t want to be outnumbered by Sundowns fans on the day. We know they many supporters in the province thus we are calling on all the Baroka faithfuls to come in their masses on the day and rally behind the team,” Maredi concluded.
