Ready, aim and fire as LPPSA members meet

The Limpopo Practical Pistol Shooting Association (LPPSA) recently hosted their first league meet for 2021 at the Polokwane Shooting Range.

The meet’s six stages were set up in such a way that it kept participants engaged as they attempted to beat their best times. The following people also received their provincial colours: Gerrit Dokter, Dion du Bruyn, Corné Smith, Tinus Botha, Daleen Rautenbach, Tinus Erasmus, Doug Wessels and Francois Bronkhorst. Shooter, Phillip Smit says shooting is an exciting sport which trains participants in the safe handling of firearms.

Shortly before closing in 2020, the range hosted their closed championship competition, which was held in a new format, allowing for more stages throughout the day. Where a national level would usually consist of 14 to 16 stages over two days, the Limpopo Stone competition included 16 stages in one day. Not only did this place pressure on participants but led to an exciting and challenging day on the shooting range.
