National colours for local soccer star

Thato Segolela was selected to be part of the South African national football junior team that will compete at the u/17 African Cup of Nations in Morocco later in March.

The 17-year-old Northern Academy learner, who is the nephew of the former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana midfielder, Tlou Segolela was at a camp at the South African Football Association Technical Centre in Johannesburg to complete their preparations for the competition.

He is he fourth player from the school to don the national football colours.

Hendrick Mukwevho, u/17 coach at the school said Segolela joins the likes of Livhuwani Netshikulwe, Glen Malesa and Karabo Mpaneng who represented the school on a national level.

“We are happy for him. He has been doing well since he joined the school. He was also invited by Kaizer Chiefs last year to join their development team and we wish him all the best.”
