Proteas may be the team to beat in ICC World T20

The national cricket team, the Proteas, who are more renowned for test cricket, have stepped it up this year in the one day format

POLOKWANE – The batting side of the Proteas have proven that they are more than up to the challenge in this year’s ICC World T20.

With more than capable batsmen like, Quinton de Kock, Hashim Amla, Francois du Plessis and of course the ever dangerous AB de Villiers, the side has put a total of 229 runs on the scoreboard against England and a total of 209 runs against Afghanistan.

Even though the Proteas lost against England, one should still consider that they have crossed the 200 mark in all their matches so far.

The bowling side must however up their game a little bit as they are struggling to defend their runs, but with bowlers like Kagiso Rabada, Chris Morris, Imran Tahir and bowling legend, Dale Steyn, we might see some important wickets fall in the later stages of the tournament.

The South Africans lost their first match against England by two wickets, but they won their second match against Afghanistan with 37 runs, putting them second in their group behind the undefeated West Indies.

The South African will however have to face the undefeated former T20 World Cup team, the West Indies in their next match on 27 March.
