Potties athletes ready to tackle Comrades

On Sunday 11 runners from the Potties-Athletic Club along with thousands of runners from all over the world will take on the world's greatest ultra-marathon the 91st Comrades Marathon.

MOKOPANE This year the Comrades will be the 45th down-run in the history of the event, starting outside the Pietermaritzburg City Hall and finishing at the Kingsmead Cricket stadium in Durban.

PC Botha, Estelle Geerkens, Sarie Coetzee, Annemarie Kruger, Aubrey Baloyi, James Winch, Lukas Khalo, Fairial Hoosen, Tsego Josephine Sekhaolelo, Katijah Essack and Cecilia Ferreira will be among the 20 000 participants anxiously awaiting to tackle the daunting task at 05:30 Sunday morning. The members of the Potties-Athletic Club say they will be running in honour of their team mate Janet Duvenhage who recently passed away after a brave cancer battle.
