Bronze for Sunrise
The u/13 girls hockey team of Sunrise Primary School clinched a bronze medal during the recent National School's Sport Championships in Durban.
MOKOPANE – The girls team dominated the field and lost only two matches against the team from Eastern Cape and Kwazulu-Natal. They boast with a 4-0 score against the team from Gauteng, 2-0 against the team from Free State, 3-0 against the team from Northern Cape and 2-0 against the team from Mpumalanga.
The u/13 boys team of Sunrise Primary School was also a force to be reckoned with on the field and missed the semi-finals with only one point. They ranked fifth overall.
Their Coach, Kubiku Kubs Kozanai, said: “This was a great achievement for the team and we are very proud of our players who represented the province with pride.” The school thanked everyone who was behind the team’s development and said they acknowledge their support.
