Great talent right on cue
Limpopo's u/18 pool players gained tons of experience during the u/18 pool national tournament that took place at Soetdorings Country Club last week.
POLOKWANE – Limpopo’s u/18 pool players gained tons of experience during the u/18 pool national tournament that took place at Soetdorings Country Club last week.
“The Limpopo players never conceded a bonus point to their opponents, not even against the strongest teams from Free State, Eastern Cape or Gauteng, who boast with Protea players,” said Limpopo pool coach, Naas Vorster.
“I believe this is a great achievement for the team, which has three members under the age of 14,” Vorster added.
Benhard Gouws won the trophy for best player in the province.
In the speedball tournament, the Limpopo team fared well, winning the second leg of the trials in a time of 11:22.
The Limpopo side achieved fourth place overall.
Vorster also plans to open a pool academy in the near future.
“We have been planning the academy for a while now, and hopefully it will become a reality soon,” said Vorster.
“Soetdorings Country Club has made a venue with four pool tables and a separate entrance available to the academy for lessons where young and old can receive training from beginner to advanced levels,” Vorster explained.
