OR Tambo honour

THE Suzan Shadung ANCYL branch soccer team from ward 37 in Seshego was crowned the winner of a soccer tournament, which was held at the Seshego zone 2 sports ground

SESHEGO – THE Suzan Shadung ANCYL branch soccer team from ward 37 in Seshego was crowned the winner of a soccer tournament, which was held at the Seshego zone 2 sports ground on Sunday.

They beat ward 12’s Chris Hani ANCYL branch team 3-1.

According to Suzan Shadung branch secretary, Martinus Tsiri, the tournament was held to honour the former ANC pre-sident, OR Tambo.

“We also wanted to use the tournament to encourage young people to stay away from drugs and other substance abuse and to take education seriously.

“We want to ensure that these young people know where they belong,” said Tsiri.

He told Express that sport was an important tool to unite people.

“We want to find out the challenges they are faced with at home or school so that we can assist where we can. We want a community with young people who are developed in terms of sport. As the ANCYL, we are dedicated to help underprivileged young people,” he said.
