Gymstars excel at SA championship
The gymnasts of Gymstars Gymnastics recently participated in the South African Gymnastics Championships held in Johannesburg and Eldoraigne.
POLOKWANE – The gymnasts of Gymstars Gymnastics recently participated in the South African Gymnastics Championships held in Johannesburg and Eldoraigne.
The gymnasts battled it out against the other provinces and did very well.
The star of her age group, Lize van Ryneveld, claimed the overall first place in the rhythmic level five u/13 division.
She won gold medals for rope and ribbon and also took a silver medal for free dance.
Chante Serfontein took the second place overall as she claimed a gold medal for clubs and a silver medal for rope.
“Along with Anika Myburgh who was placed eighth overall in the rhythmic level five u/15, these Gymstars gymnasts did their club proud,” said proud coach, Lelanie Logtenberg.
In the men’s artistic level four age nine to 10 category, Wihan Logtenberg also shined by claiming an overall eighth position for the apparatus, with a gold medal in parallel bars and a bronze medal for rings.
“I am proud of our gymnasts’ achievements. They have shown what hard work, dedication and team spirit can achieve.” Logtenberg concluded.
