Want to participate in the Savannah Mall 3-in-1 race, this is your last chance to enter
The annual Savannah Mall 3-in-1 race will take place on Saturday.
POLOKWANE – The annual Savannah Mall 3-in-1 race will take place on Saturday.
Interested athletes are invited to register before the cut-off date. The race consists of a 5 km fun-run, 10 km as well as a 21,1 km run.
Athletes taking part in the 5 km fun run will be able to register for the run between 05:30 and 07:15 at Entrance 3 at Savannah Mall. The cut-off date for the 10 km and 21,1 km online registration has passed but manual registration can still be done at the mall on Friday between 09:00 and 19:00.
Entrants who would like to collect their race numbers can get them at the mall on Friday at Entrance 3 opposite the Mugg and Bean coffee shop between 09:00 and 18:00. The numbers can also be collected at Entrance 3 on Saturday before the race between 05:00 and 07:00.
The race rules for the day are:
• The race will be run under the rules of IAAF and ASA. No music players or earphones allowed, offenders will be disqualified.
• All runners in the 10 km and 21,1 km races are to either wear their permanent ASA licences or register and display a temporary license.
• Athletes must wear the official timing tag. No Tag – No Time – No Prize.
• The 21,1 km and 10 km races will be timed with a chip (Protime Timekeeping), the 5 km will not be timed – electronic clock available at finish.
• Runners may not be dressed in any advertising material on their clothing during the race.
• All licensed athletes must wear a valid 2016 license on the back of their vests.
• Official race numbers to be displayed on the front and permanent or temporary license on the back of vest.
• Official numerical category tags must be displayed on the front and the back of the running vest during the race. Category winners must be able to provide ID or a birth certificate to prove age on request on the day.
• No seconding will be allowed outside the designated water point area. “Stand and hand” rule applies.
• Walkers must wear “W” on back and front if competing for a prize.
• Marshalls and traffic officials to be obeyed at all times.
• Official cut-off time: 21,1 km – 3 hours
• The decision of the referees may be appealed in writing – upon payment of R200 to the race organiser.
• The decision of the jury of appeal is final.
• Winners must attend the prize-giving ceremony.
