Golfers impress at Spur challenge

Lukhanyiso Papu and Tony Plaatjies emerged as the overall winners of the Spur Golf Day that took place at the Polokwane Golf Club recently.

POLOKWANE – The winning pair managed to accumulate 47 points securing them the win. The event saw 82 golfers compete in better ball stableford format.

Theo Allison and Ray Mackie were a close second with 46 points. Nearest to the pin on both hole two and nine was played by Dirk Visagie and on hole 11 by Joe Mackay.

The jackpot was drawn by Raymond Mushaike at holes one, five, seven and 12 but there were no winners. The jackpot stands at 1 440 units with a payable amount of 1 150.

Tony Plaatjies said he tried his best on the greens and it paid off in the end.

“It was a good day on the course and I look forward to the next game,” Plaatjies said.
