Leopards set to trump Amazulu
Black Leopards assistant coach, Sello Chokoe, said he has a powerful squad that will win them three points when they open the National First Division (NFD) slate against Amazulu at the Prince Magogo Stadium tomorrow (Sunday).
LIMPOPO – He said they had a very good pre-season training session in Swaziland for the past month which made his players ready and in tip-top shape.
“We have a couple of young players working with more experienced ones such as Roggert Nyundu, Siphelele Ntshangase, Morgan Shivambu, Meshack Maphangule, and Ivin Mahangwahaya,” he said.
“We recalled our former midfielder, Abubaka Mumuni, who was playing for Free State Stars last season and signed another midfielder, Ben Masuka, from Zimbabwe.
On top of that we reinforced our goalkeeping with Aubrey Mathibe from Moroka Swallows. There are no big changes at the back but we have signed Hlabane Kutumela from Chippa United to play alongside Thivha Ndou and Jean Djunga Munganga,” he said.
He added that they are assessing Felix Musonda from Golden Arrows and Ayanda Dlamini from Amazulu as possible strikers.
Black Leopards team manager, Mulondo Sikhwivhilu, said he wants to see commitment on the side of the players as the club should return to its full glory and previous position in the Premier Soccer League.
Meanwhile the NFD newcomer Magesi FC’s coach, Jacky Ledwaba, said his boys will muzzle Thanda Royal Zulu at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
“We have rectified the mistakes committed by our defenders when we played against Kaizer Chiefs in the FAME Charity Cup three weeks ago at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex.
“Unfortunately a lack of concentration by our defenders cost us but we reinforced our striking force by signing three local strikers.
“We also signed Temptation Chilunga from Zimbabwe and Khuliso Mudau from the JDR Stars who will play on the right back.
“Our boys will play with a homeground advantage, cheered on by their local fans. I am confident they will collect many points during the match,” Ledwaba said.
