FOCUS SET ON NFD

The National First Division (NFD) race is currently taking on a new shape and Black Leopards must beat Jomo Cosmos at Tsakane Stadium today if they want to secure their second position in the log.

LIMPOPO – Cosmos is a very difficult team in the NFD league and if Lidoda Duvha lose concentration, they risk losing the claws.

On Sunday, Amazulu leaped on top of Leopards after walloping Cape Town All Stars 3-1 at King Zwelithini Stadium. Amazulu now have 41 points, pushing Leopards into third position.

Stellenbosch FC also have 40 points after their 2-0 win against University of Pretoria at Tuks Stadium and they are in the fourth position.

The war to avoid relegation is still tough but Magesi Fc’ advanced fighting tactics are yielding good results as they have moved from the bottom.

Magesi have 25 points and Santos are at the bottom of the log with 18 points.

Black Leopards striker Mwape Musonda is expected to give Jomo Cosmos defenders a tough time during their NFD clash this afternoon.

If Magesi can win their match against Thanda Royal Zulu on 30 April, they will be saved from inhaling canon smoke at the borderline.

Cosmos Coach, Jomo Somo says his team is ready for Leopards and they have rectified their mistakes after losing 2-0 against Magesi at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium two weeks ago.

“We are out of the Nedbank Cup after losing 1-0 against Chippa United, so we have to focus on today’s match and collect maximum points,” said Sono.

Black Leopards coach Jean-Francois Losciuto says his team is well-prepared and ready for the match this afternoon. He said it is important to win this match in order to remain on the NFD race.

“I have a very well-organised team and I believe in them. They are very focused.

“Last week when we played to a 1-1 draw against Thanda Royal Zulu, we had more chances but their goalkeeper saved them. I am not changing my team. I’m also not worried about Amazulu are sitting at second position as I know we are going to reclaim our position. They also have more games and we still have one game in hand,” said Losciuto.
