Softball home run with Mahwelereng Spikes Softball Club

A recent softball competition was a huge success after both men's and women's teams challenged each other at an annual tournament hosted by the Mahwelereng Spikes Softball Club.

LIMPOPO – On Saturday various softball teams competed against each other at the Mahwelereng Stadium. The men’s teams: Mahwelereng Spikes, Naledi Spiders, Mamelodi Pittbulls, Wild Beasts, Seshego Raiders, Sekgakgapheng Rockets, Texas Softball Club, and Rustenburg Royals. The women’s teams: Spikes, Naledi Spiders, Try Again, and Royals.

Softball is a well-known sport that has been played in Limpopo for many years, focusing on the youth to keep them away from drugs. After the games were played the final results were annouced and Mamelodi Pittbulls won with Wild Beasts as the runners-up.

In the female category the Spikes team won and the Naledi Spiders came second.

“We look forward to meeting you next year with an even bigger and better event in our quest to bring back and restore the glory of softball in Limpopo and South Africa at large,” said Ntate Pila, Chairperson of the Spikes Softball Club.
