Bafana Bafana to replay Senegal in Polokwane

The game will be played on 11 November 2017 at Peter Mokaba Stadium

POLOKWANE – The national soccer team will make their way back to Peter Mokaba Stadium on 11 November to replay their 2018 Fifa World Cup Qualifying game.

This follows FIFA ordering the replay of the qualification match after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), found the referee for the match, Joseph Lamptey, guilty of match manipulation.

The announcement was during the launch of the VW South African Football (Safa) Limpopo Challenge earlier today.

Review spoke to the Provincial Secretary of the South African Football Association, Patrick Seema, who said the match will be one of two qualifying matches played.

“The one game will be played in Polokwane and the other game will be played at the Stade Leopold Sedar Senghor, in Senegal, as stated on the FIFA website,” he said.

The initial match was played on 12 November 2016, where Bafana Bafana beat Senegal 2-1.
