Prizes worth R200 000 up for grabs at the Review Longest Drive Challenge

This family fun day will be held at the Polokwane Golf Club, with a jumping castle for children’s entertainment and there will be a lounge for mom or dad to relax while the golfers take to the challenge.

POLOKWANE – Golf lovers in the city – get your swing ready and stand a chance to win prizes worth R200 000 in the Review Longest Drive Challenge on Saturday, 14 April.

Food will be sold, but for participants and their families’ convenience, waiters from the club house will be taking orders and bring food to your comfort zone. There will also be a cash bar available, as well as a gin and locally brewed beer stall.

Entries are open to all, which include pro as well as amateur golfers at R200 per person.

Anyone is welcome to enter and take a swing at the chance of being crowned Review Longest Drive king or queen. For those who do not have golf clubs, clubs will be supplied.

There are three categories to compete in, age 0 to 15 boys and girls up against each other, 16 to 64 men’s and women’s category and 65 years and older men’s and women’s category.

There will be a winner in each category, but for the age group 16 to 64 there will be 16 finalists who will compete in the knock-out round to determine the ultimate champ of the day.

The top 16 will be announced between 16:00 and 17:00 who will than have to prove their worth on the fairway to be in the top three. Prizes on the day include flat screen TVs, goodiebags worth R400 each, air-conditioners, a weekend away and much more.

For winners to claim their prizes they will have to be at the prize- giving ceremony at 18:00: failure to attend will see your prize forfeited.

Apart from the coveted best drive of the day title, there will be spot prizes for the greatest chip, longest putt-into-the-hole challenge and the marshmallow drive, where contestants can use any of their golf clubs, putting with a marshmallow.

An auction will also be held during the prize-giving, where among other items, a signed rugby jersey will be auctioned off.
